Cleaning

• Quartz is an engineered stone, which is more scratch and heat resistant than many other surfaces, but if your quartz is scratched or damaged it must be professionally repaired. This can be avoided by always using a cutting board. Using knives directly on the surface will dull your knife, and shorten its lifespan.
• To keep your quartz looking shiny, keep it dusted regularly to remove loose soil and dust that can scratch the surface.
• When cleaning your quartz use a clean cloth and soapy water. You can also use window cleaner on the tops to help maintain their shine. Typically a wet rag is all that is needed to clean your quartz.
• Never use harsh abrasive or acidic cleaners on engineered stone such as vinegar, bleach, ammonia or other general-purpose cleaners. These could discolor the surface or etch the surface.
• Engineered stone is non-porous, and does not have to be sealed, but spills should taken care of immediately, and not left standing on the top.

Heat

Although quartz is more able to resist heat damage than many other countertop products, it is not indestructible. Damage may be caused by hot pans, heat producing appliances or other heat sources. Excessive or prolonged heat can cause cracking, deformation or have adverse effects on appearance.  The manufacturer in their use and care instructions recommends caution in exposing the product to heat, suggesting the use of hot pads, trivets, etc. This is to minimize the potential for damage.

Any damage caused by heat IS NOT covered under the manufacturer warranty for either repair or placement. The warranty only covers defective material and heat damage is considered to be abuse, not related to a defect in material.

Understanding the properties and limitations of the material is an important element of your ongoing satisfaction. We advise that you closely consider the recommendations of the manufacturer regarding use and care so that you will not experience any problems.
